If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, what can a poem a day do?
Why are these pithy word-collections important anyway?
Well, I believe that words can take you to a better place than the one you sometimes find yourself. Here is my goal in sharing these poems of mine:
In A Word
When expected joy in family life
Is swallowed up by a current strife,
When you go to pluck joy from your harp,
But you’re stopped by strings that broke or warped,
When the pantry cannot lift your mood –
Since there is no lasting joy in food –
You may sometimes find in written words
A place of rest and comfort sure.
May the words you find here bring you stillness,
Bring you sweet escape from illness,
In your weakness be a ready staff,
Be the source of many deep, good laughs,
Be a constant source of holy leaven,
Elevating thoughts to heaven.
Strength and power erupt from words
Ever since God’s words first build the worlds.

If you find anything you like in these posts, it is because of Jesus’ work in my life, and all the glory belongs to God. By myself, I am not very impressive. But I don’t mind. I’d be completely lost without Jesus.
May God rain and shower upon you every good blessing, most of all saving faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
