(a poem that kept me awake)
Our dogs scared off NO DINOSAURS,
NO MOUNTAIN LIONS, NOR BEARS.
They bark as if these all were here,
But truly no one cares.
For just outside NO MONSTERS lurk—
At least the GIANT kind:
Small rabbits, prairie dogs, and squirrels
Are all that we can find.
Yet BOTH THE DOGS with all their hearts
Attention here demand.
But I must say, THEY OUGHT TO HAVE
APOLOGIES IN HAND!
