.My unloved names must fade away—
.Yes, fade away and disappear!!—
.Blockaded by what God would say:
“EXCEPTIONAL, SWEET BEAUTY HERE!”
“AMAZING, GRACEFUL, MUCH-LOVED CHILD!”
“Unwanted”. “Lost”. — NOW RECONCILED.
.The old has gone. The new now comes.
.I dress myself in Jesus’s words:
“FORGIVEN, CHOSEN, BLESSED ONE.”
“UNIQUE!” “BELOVED!” – healing words!
“LONG-SOUGHT SWEET TREASURE: LOVED OF GOD!”
“BEGUILING JOY”. “COMPLETE”. “UNFLAWED”.
.Excessive love He gives to me:
.Loved better than I ever knew,
.Out-taking all my old debris,
.Views framed by what God says is true;
.Enlarging my once-shrinking soul,
.Delivered, fully healed, and whole.

**The second half of line 15 is a direct quote of Staci Eldredge, from one of the video sessions of the “Captivating” retreat.
And, as in occasions past, I have used periods at the beginning of some of the lines to purchase space to force the acrostic to line up.
Except for the acrostic, I tried to model the rhyme scheme and meter after William Wordsworth’s “The Daffodils”, which is one of my favorite poems. And less than an hour after I had captured the title and acrostic line, God had helped me complete the whole poem. That was a very happy ending! : )
