Some folks preach a savior mild,
But my God is A WARRIOR WILD:
A God Who will avenge all wrong,
Whose sense of Justice thunders strong.
Though truly there’s a place for meekness,
JESUS WEREN’T NO god OF WEAKNESS!

He Who is our bridge to God
Was never some weak, timid sod:
In seeking man, God shows restraint,
But timid, shrinking soul HE AIN’T!
Though truly there’s a place for meekness,
JESUS WEREN’T NO god OF WEAKNESS!

He showed His wild side to the crowd
Who clamored “Justice!” long and loud,
While terrorizing one who slid
With no defense for what she did.
Our Savior saw her on her own,
But knew she had not sinned alone:
He saw how she had been set up—
And proved Him worthy of her trust.
Would weaklings or scared cowards then
Say, “Let the sinless punish sin!”?
No! When all other hopes did fade,
Our Lord Himself came to her aid.
Christ held the wolves back from her door,
Then firmly said, “GO SIN NO MORE!”
Though truly there’s a place for meekness,
JESUS WEREN’T NO god OF WEAKNESS!

Then it was no process simple
To cleanse out a fallen temple,
Driving swindlers with strong cord
From victims kept there from their Lord.
People pleasers fade in meekness,
But our Lord had not this weakness.

Even when He reached the end
Of life in which He never sinned,
All loaded up with all our stains
And pains to drive most men insane,
Jesus made plans for His mom
To be provided for by John:
Nailed upon OUR cross in weakness,
Jesus did not rest in meekness:
For Christ is OUR WARRIOR WILD,
This God so often labeled “mild”.
