A strength there is in gentleness
The forceful cannot know.
In mercy and in tenderness,
Great beauty to bestow,
The Father practices to bless
The souls on earth below.

Although the power and the right
Belong to God above,
He oft restrains celestial might,
Instead releasing love,
Along with gentle insight
We had not been thinking of.

So, though it is appropriate
To use a show of force,
Or other methods integrate
In battles, then, of course
Great power we appreciate
In practice or discourse.

But there is great persuasiveness
In voices soft and low,
And often seeds are planted thus
Without a forceful show:
A strength there is in gentleness
That some may never know.
