For friends who practice mothering
But do not have a child,
Whose hearts are filled with longings
As yet unreconciled,

Who work for God through endless days,
Unnoticed by the world,
Who sometimes battle bitter tears,
Whose hearts are hidden pearls,

For those who are not mothers,
Whose tribes have not increased,
For these and many others,
We pray God’s gift of peace.

I wanted to add this poem as a free download to my blogsite, but currently lack the expertise to do so.

I would like to invite those of you who are so inclined to pray for those women whose hearts are breaking on Mother’s Day.  They do a lot of mothering in their daily lives, but are probably not acknowledged for it.

Praying for God’s love and goodness to overwhelm you,
