Help me
To want what You want me to have
And to honestly want nothing more.
Stop me
From looking with envy on that
Which I coveted often before.
Let me
Remember you love me much more
Than I, so impure, love myself.
Give me
A heart You can teach and then use,
That humbly relies on Your help.

The idea for this poem came from a Joyce Meyer teaching in which Joyce said that if we are wanting something that God knows is not good for us, then having it wouldn’t do us any good. So, we might as well learn to be content with what God knows is good for us.

Philippians 4:11b
“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”

Praying for you to find contentment with God,
